According to (ACOG), between 14-23% of women will struggle with some symptoms of depression during pregnancy. Many women experience this during this postpartum period and often end up feeling melancholic and low.

Several studies say one simple way to beat off these blues is eating right and altering your diet. Yes, that’s true. It can help you feel rejuvenated and will certainly help in enhancing your mood.

Amino Acids play a major role in boosting up your mood and nursing several disorders. Blueberry is rich in antioxidants and is a great supplement to help curb mood. According to a research, women who consumed such foods are less likely to experience these baby blues.

There are multiple other foods too which will help you to curb this problem. You can take a moderate amount of
prenatal supplements, if you’re particularly lacking in some vitamins and nutrients. You can seek the advice from a doctor who can guide you better for your diet. Eating food which is rich in omega 3 is highly significant. Fish is the prime source to get a good amount of omega 3. Other foods include eggs, milk, and yogurt. Include foods which are a good source of folic acid in your diet. Boiled spinach, broccoli, vegetarian baked beans, broccoli, breakfast cereals, orange, tomato juice and wheat germ are rich in folate.

So, we can see that taking adequate nutrients can definitely help to deal with postpartum depression. We should ensure that we deal with this at the right time, or we can multiply the risk of this problem which can lead to disasters.

Some women also feel a sense of resignation after pregnancy which depresses them. However, there are ways by which you can shift your body back in shape slowly and steadily. Other factors by which you can deal with it taking sound sleep, spending time with friends and family and taking herbal remedies. You can seek assistance of someone who could do the daily chores which will help you relax and manage stress.
